Photoshop CS5

Well, it looks like with Photoshop CS5 being released shortly, Christmas will be coming early this year!  All I can say is, “Wow!”  Adobe released a “sneak peak” of the capabilities of the Creative Suite 5 and with Photoshop being the dominant program of the suite, spent a lot of time focusing on what is new with this program.

The most exciting new feature seems to be the Content Aware Fill Brush, which will make doing tasks that previously took hours or were impossible to accomplish, as easy as a few clicks.  With this new tool large objects can be removed from photographs and the background will be filled in as if the object were never there.  The demonstration given by Adobe was quite impressive.  It is playtime for Photographers.  Photoshop is having its 20th anniversary this year, and we are the ones getting the gift with Photoshop CS5.

Weather Video

Check out this weather video I shot with my iPhone.  The sky was blue in parts and quite dark in other areas.  We get some amazing weather in Upstate New York.

Fall Photo Ops

Fall is a great time to take advantage of great photo ops.  Grab your camera and keep it handy.  Fall foliage is a fleeting event.  It changes and one good storm can take it all down.  Have your camera ready and take advantage every day as summer turns to fall.  Autumn is my favorite season.  Smell the crisp air.  Capture some memories.  Share your vision.  Be happy.  Fall photo ops only come once a year – take advantage and enjoy!

Whale Watch Video and Photos

Check back soon for some new whale watch video and photos from a recent trip to Cape Cod.

We left from Gloucester, MA and went to Stellwagen bank.  it turned out to be a beautiful day, despite the area having one of the coldest and rainiest seasons in years.

Their summer came late, but it is gorgeous now and whale watching is one of the best vacation activities you can do.  Bring lots of photo and video equipment.

Sometimes the whales practically touch the boat they are so close.  You should be able to get some great video and photos with whatever equipment you have.

Bird Photos

Its just after dawn and there are some great opportunities to take bird photos at this time of the day.

Grab a cup of tea in one hand and your camera in the other and hit the back yard.  Just sit back quietly and listen to nature wake up.

Soon you will observe different sounds.  In a little while with some observation you will begin to notice which birds are making the distinctly different sounds.

It is a magical time of day and will fill your heart with the wonder of nature.  Capture that feeling and the beauty that is with your digital camera.

Home Garden Photos

Its late spring in the northern hemisphere – the perfect time to take home garden photos.

The gardens are blooming.  There are some great photo opportunities right in your own back (and front) yard.  Humm… someone should invent pictures that capture the fragrance as well as the beauty of these plants and flowers!

In my yard the peonies have bloomed.  Just three cuttings in a vase has filled the home with a beautiful perfume.  Don’t forget to capture their beauty with a timeless photograph.

Take some close-up shots and wide angle views as well.  Also, another fun project is to periodically take a photo of the same plant.  This way you can capture all of the stages of the plant blooming.  Feel free to share your comments and images below.

Summer Vacation Photos

Remember to take a camer on your summer vacation!  Bring batteries, memory cards, and lens cleaner.  Have fun!  Be safe.  Wear sunscreen.

Tell a story of your vacation.  Take wide shots, close ups, details, and of course people shots.  Get reaction shots.  Feel free to comment and share your best vacation shots and experiences here.  I will be having a home-grown vacation this summer.  We have a great Harborfest festival.  I’ll post photos after the event.

Be creative and experiment.  Also, consider letting a child use your camera.  You will be surprised at how much that jesture can impact them.  Also, the shots will be fun.  If nothing else, their shorter point of view will yield some new angles.  It will give you a perspective of how they perceive their world.

Gestion de Activos de Digitaces – Parte 6

Una biblioteca de la imagen debe ser protegida.  Las imágenes desprotegidas son irreemplazables, y la reconstrucción de una base de datos de imagen es un pensamiento desalentador.  La pérdida ocurre en maneras diferentes.  El hardware puede fallar, sea robado, o destruido por el fuego o la otra tragedia.  (more…)

Las organizaciones se han establecido para estandardizar, para promover, y para proteger el campo de la fotografía digital.  La alianza común de los artistas (SAA) fundada en 2001, es una tal organización.  Mientras que los medios y los periodistas fotográficos se trasladaron a la era digital, la necesidad de la estandardización llegó a ser obvia.  (more…)

Gestion de Activos de Digitaces – Parte 3

Los dispositivos de la grabación de Digitaces tales como cámaras digitales y videocámaras han llegado a ser disponibles y accesibles al público en general.  La palabra, “archivo” ha adquirido un nuevo significado. Gestion de Activos de Digitaces – Parte 2

El concepto y el proceso de la gerencia de la imagen se ha explorado por siglos.  Puede ser rastreada (cuadro basado) a la escritura logográfica.  Dos categorías emergieron – escritura pictográfica e ideográfica. La gestión de activos de Digitaces, también conocida como, “D.A.M.” es un término usado para describir cómo manejar medios digitales tales como fotografías, vídeos, y música.  Esto se logra con una variedad los programas informáticos disponibles el del costoso y comprensivo, al barato o aún al freeware. Esta serie de seis partes investiga la necesidad de de la organización del archivo digital de la historia detrás del concepto a los varios programas de la gerencia disponibles, por ejemplo el ™ de Picasa del freeware de Google y los medios de la expresión de Microsoft. Equipo Subacuatico de la Fotografia

Hay muchos factores a considerar al elegir el equipo subacuático de la fotografía.  Las opciones se extienden de las cámaras digitales de la sola unidad, tales como la serie del interruptor de la aguja  de Olympus (véase el poste anterior del blog) a los sistemas profesionales de gama alta que son absolutamente costosos.  (more…)
